According to court records, a Texas high school student who is accused of intentionally poisoning a classmate’s pet had made incriminating searches on the internet prior to the incident.
CCTV footage revealed Aubrey Vanlandingham, 17, poisoning Willy, a 15-year-old classmate’s six-month-old pet goat, leading to charges of felony cruelty to farm animals.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, Vanlandingham allegedly used a search engine to look up a variety of eerie inquiries online before Willy was killed.
However, an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE alleges that Vanlandingham used a search engine to seek out a range of unsettling questions online prior to Willy’s death.
“How much bleach can kill an animal,” and “if goats inject bleach do they die,” were amongst Vanlandingham’s searches. She also looked up “poisoning pets, what you should know”.
She then allegedly searched “How to clear search history.”
According to law enforcement, Vanlandingham admitted to attempting to kill the goat due to the belief that its owner was a “cheater”. Vanlandingham, who also owns a show goat, frequently participated in competitions alongside other young show goats and their owners, including Willie and his owner.
Vanlandingham was arrested and subsequently taken into custody. However, he was later released on a $5,000 bond.
