A car in Tempe struck a child on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in injuries.
According to the Tempe police, they received a call about a person who had been hit by a car in the area of 48th Street and Baseline around 4 p.m.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a 9-year-old child who had sustained serious injuries. Although the injuries were severe, they were not considered life-threatening. Consequently, the child was promptly transported to the hospital for further medical attention.
The car’s driver did not stay at the scene.
The crash is currently being investigated by officers who are still present at the scene.
Drivers are being urged to use Southern Avenue or Broadway Road as alternate routes due to road closures in the area.
