Two individuals sustained severe injuries in a collision that occurred in Clinton County on Sunday afternoon, shortly after 3:35 p.m.
A Honda Odyssey driver, a 42-year-old woman, was heading southbound on Interstate 35 when she veered into the passing lane to avoid a dog on the road, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A passing Ford Focus driven by a 56-year-old woman was hit by the Honda.
Both vehicles veered off the east side of the road and eventually came to a halt.
Both the driver of the Ford and a 66-year-old female passenger sustained serious injuries and were immediately transported to Liberty Hospital for medical treatment.
According to the highway patrol, all individuals involved in the accident had their seat belts on.
