Police: 18-year-old Man Charged With Attempted Homicide After New Cumberland Shooting

A shooting that occurred late Saturday evening in New Cumberland has led to the arrest of a man, according to York County authorities.

An 18-year-old named Angel Sanjurjo-Rodriguez is facing charges of criminal attempted homicide in relation to the incident.

Around 11:55 p.m., the Fairview Township Police Department responded to a call in the 100 block of Meadowbrook Court. Upon arrival, they discovered an individual who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

The alleged shooter, Sanjurjo-Rodriguez, managed to flee from the scene before the police arrived.

The officers wasted no time in securing an arrest warrant for Sanjurjo-Rodriguez. Charges against him include criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, firearms not to be carried without a license, recklessly endangering another person, and simple assault.

Pennsylvania State Police arrested Sanjurjo-Rodriguez near Selinsgrove, according to police, at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

According to officials, there is no known threat to the public as Sanjurjo-Rodriguez was acquainted with the victim.
