Snow possible in Arizona, chance of a white Christmas

This year, there is a possibility of Arizonans in the northern part of the state experiencing a white Christmas while celebrating the holidays.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a low possibility of rain and snow occurring to the north of the Interstate 40 corridor.

“We do have a storm system moving through northern Arizona that’ll bring a cold front to the state throughout temperatures, maybe 10 to 15 degrees along with a chance of rain and snow showers,” said meteorologist Ben Peterson with the National Weather Service based in Flagstaff.

Despite the chance of snowy conditions, Petersen predicts that the weather will remain warm for Monday and Tuesday. It’s worth noting that this December has been unusually warm in the Southwest.

When traveling, it is important to pay attention to the forecast, according to Peterson.
