U.S. Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens stated that a South African national, who remains unidentified, was initially apprehended in Texas for criminal trespassing but was subsequently released.
According to a Texas Department of Public Safety official, the migrant was initially apprehended on a ranch near Eagle Pass in September. Subsequently, they were handed over to federal border patrol, who ultimately released them.
Lt. Chris Olivarez, the spokesperson for the Texas DPS, documented and shared on social media the arrest of the man, along with 36 other illegal migrants. Olivarez revealed that the group included special interest illegal immigrants from Turkey, Pakistan, India, and Vietnam.
