Man charged with rape of 93-year-old woman on North Side after stalking her on bus

A man remained in jail on Monday after allegedly forcing his way into a 93-year-old woman’s North Side house over the weekend and raping her.

Authorities say Ronny Hough, 39, followed the woman on a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus from Downtown to the city’s Troy Hill neighborhood around 6 p.m. Saturday.

According to the criminal complaint, Hough “entered her home without her consent.” According to authorities, once inside, he refused to let the woman leave.

The lawsuit stated that Hough hit the woman, yanked her hair, and caused her arms to bruise and bleed. According to the accusation, he threw the victim to the ground and raped her.

According to the complaint, the woman told police that she didn’t know Hough.

According to authorities, Hough fell asleep, and the woman contacted 911.

Police arrested Hough. The lawsuit claims that Hough admitted to following the woman before he hit her and had sex with her.

Charges against him included rape, sexual assault, burglary, aggravated assault, and trespassing.

On Sunday, a district judge refused Hough bail and returned him to the Allegheny County Jail, citing a threat to the community.

Police papers did not provide an address for Hough’s attorney, according to online court records.
