Georgia rapper Quando Rondo was sentenced to two years and nine months in jail on Wednesday after pleading guilty to federal drug charges earlier this year.
The rapper, whose actual name is Tyquian Terrel Bowman, 25, pled guilty in August to one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana.
Prosecutors agreed to dismiss further felony counts in a December indictment charging Bowman with conspiring with others to possess and distribute substances such as methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and marijuana.
Following his guilty hearing last summer, Bowman publicly apologized to the Savannah community and his family.
As Quando Rondo, the rapper’s singles “I Remember” and “ABG” led to a deal with Atlantic Records, which will release his debut album, “QPac,” in 2020. Last year saw the release of his follow-up album, “Recovery.”
