Police in Philadelphia detained four teen boys after a pizza delivery driver was shot and robbed on Saturday night in Southwest Philadelphia, according to police.
The incident happened around 11:31 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, when a 37-year-old pizza delivery driver arrived at the 12th police district station, near the intersection of South 65th Street and Woodland Avenue, wounded in the left thigh and groin.
According to police, the driver, who was brought to a local hospital and is in stable condition, informed authorities at the station that he was delivering a pizza to a home on the 6700 block of Paschall Avenue that evening when he was robbed and shot by four men.
He told authorities that four people stole pizza, wings, and money during the event.
When officers from the station arrived at the spot where the driver claimed the robbery took place, they found a .22 caliber shell on the road, according to officials. According to officials, officers on the scene saw two juvenile guys departing a residence in the neighboring 2200 block of Hobson Street while carrying pizza boxes.
Law enforcement officials reported that one of these teenagers fled when they approached, while they apprehended the second.
Officials reported that cops caught the escaped child after they saw him sprinting into the alley behind the 6700 block of Woodland Avenue and hiding beneath a vehicle.
