The Postville Police Department has apprehended three individuals from Nicaragua in connection with an investigation into identity theft and forgery.
Authorities, in collaboration with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on Friday at a property located in the 12000 block of 100th Street in Postville.
Following the operation, Dennis Mercado Perez was formally charged with identity theft and forgery. Enock Mercado Velasquez and David Haylan Mercado were charged with forgery and possession of a fictitious identification card.
The three suspects are currently being held at the Clayton County Jail as the investigation continues.
