Two Men Saved After Waders Malfunction During Duck Hunt

Early Saturday morning, around 6:30 a.m., a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old man were preparing for a duck hunting trip near the Sandy Beach boat ramp. While setting up decoys using a canoe, one of the men encountered trouble when his waders began filling with water, preventing him from re-entering the canoe. Fortunately, they managed to reach shallower water.

Emergency responders deployed two rescue boats to the scene and successfully saved both men and their dog. One of the men, exhibiting symptoms of hypothermia, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
