Milwaukee Man Wanted for Homicide Taken Into Custody in Iowa

An 18-year-old man from Milwaukee, wanted for first-degree intentional homicide, was arrested late Friday night during a traffic stop in Buchanan County.

The arrest occurred when a Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding near Main Street and Branard Street in Brandon around 11:55 p.m. During the stop, deputies detected the scent of a controlled substance and proceeded to verify the identities of the passengers.

Authorities soon discovered that one of the individuals, Christian Brandon Martin, had an active arrest warrant from Milwaukee County. Martin is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting on October 28 in Milwaukee that resulted in the death of a 15-year-old boy.

Martin was arrested and taken to the Buchanan County Jail, where he is being held for extradition to Milwaukee. He also faces potential charges related to controlled substance violations in Buchanan County.
