Mother Speaks Out After Daughter and Granddaughter Killed in West Houston
A devastating family tragedy unfolded early Friday morning in West Houston, leaving a mother mourning the loss of her daughter and granddaughter. The suspect in the case, identified as the victims’ brother and uncle, is in custody and being questioned by police.
Joanna Fisher, the mother of the suspect and one of the victims, believes her son’s actions were influenced by drugs.
“His so-called friends got him on some fake weed,” Fisher said, her voice heavy with grief. “He came home on a rampage. I had to put him out.”
A Shocking Scene
The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. at an apartment complex on Richmond Avenue near Westminster Plaza Drive. A family member flagged down police to report a disturbance.
When officers arrived, they found blood at the scene and a man, later identified as the victims’ brother, with blood on his clothes. He was immediately taken into custody.
Inside the apartment, police discovered the bodies of a woman in her late 20s and her toddler daughter.
A Plea for Help
Joanna Fisher says the tragedy might have been prevented. She told KPRC 2 that she had previously sought police intervention, filing reports about family violence and asking for help.
“I got paperwork,” Fisher said. “Family violence… we did all this paperwork.”
She also revealed that her son had recently been released from prison, further intensifying her concerns.
Investigation Continues
Houston police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. No charges have been filed yet, and authorities are working to determine what led to the fatal altercation.
This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
