Robbery Suspects Flee After Striking Two People in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs police responded to a robbery in progress on Tuesday afternoon around 2:48 p.m. in the area of the 5100 block of N. Academy Blvd., near N. Union Blvd.

According to police, two suspects driving a truck entered a store and took items from a display table. After being confronted by an employee in the parking lot, the suspects ran back to their truck and attempted to flee the scene.

As they drove off, the police said the driver struck one person who had tried to stop them and narrowly missed hitting a second person who managed to jump out of the way. Both individuals were treated on-site for their injuries.

As of 4:30 p.m., the suspects had not been apprehended, and authorities did not provide descriptions of the suspects or specify which store was targeted.

The investigation is ongoing, though police have indicated there is no immediate threat to the public.
