One Arrested, Three Detained in Connection to Gang-Related Shooting at College Station Apartment Complex
College Station, TX — One person has been arrested and three others detained following a gang-related shooting at The Vibe Apartments early Sunday morning. College Station
Police responded to reports of gunfire at 2:30 a.m. Sunday near the complex, located at 401 Harvey Road. Officers acted swiftly, responding to multiple 9-1-1 calls, and were able to identify 17-year-old Devontae Marquis Franklin, a College Station resident, as the suspect.
Franklin has been charged with Deadly Conduct and is currently being held in the Brazos County Jail on a $250,000 bond. This arrest follows his earlier detention on October 23 for Tampering/Fabricating Physical Evidence. Franklin was released on November 5 after posting bond for that charge.
During the investigation, witnesses came forward, helping police discover a bullet hole that traveled from Franklin’s apartment, through a juvenile’s bedroom, and into a nearby elderly family member’s room.
On Tuesday morning, College Station Police announced that Franklin was in custody and three others had been detained in connection to the incident. Detectives executed a high-risk search warrant at The Vibe Apartments, with assistance from special units from both College Station and Bryan Police departments. The investigation remains ongoing.
