Houston Police Arrest 2 Men in South Side ATM Robbery

Two individuals were apprehended in the act during the early hours of Wednesday morning as they attempted to steal an ATM on the South Side of San Antonio.

Dexter Robinson, 25, and Nevon Barnes, 25, both from Houston, were apprehended by the San Antonio Police.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., officers were alerted to an alarm at a bank, the specific location of which was not disclosed. Upon their arrival, the police discovered three individuals using a vehicle to unlawfully remove an ATM.

The suspects hastily fled the scene upon noticing the presence of law enforcement, however, Robinson and Barnes were successfully apprehended. The third suspect is still at large.

According to investigators, Robinson and Barnes are being considered as potential suspects in the recent series of ATM thefts that have occurred in the area.

It is yet to be confirmed by authorities if any cash was stolen.

In recent weeks, law enforcement officials have observed a surge in ATM burglaries. They have noticed a concerning trend where individuals from cities like Houston and Dallas are venturing into the area to engage in various money-related crimes, including jugging and ATM thefts.

As the holiday season draws near, law enforcement authorities are urging individuals to be vigilant when exiting financial institutions with substantial amounts of money.
