A man trespassed at the VA clinic in Colorado Springs, causing a momentary disruption, according to police.
According to police, they received a call about a shooting at the PFC Floyd K. Lindstrom Clinic off Centennial and Fillmore around 7 a.m.
However, upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that no shots had been fired. Instead, the clinic security had resorted to using pepper spray after the suspect refused to leave when asked.
After the officers arrived at the scene, it was reported that the suspect attempted to flee but was prevented by a CSPD cruiser. The suspect then reversed over a curb in an attempt to escape and ended up colliding with one of the cruisers, resulting in minor damage.
The suspect was detained by officers, but later released on misdemeanor trespassing charges. However, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has not provided any explanation as to why the suspect was considered trespassing or what led to the confrontation with security that resulted in the use of pepper spray.
