15-year-old Apprehended For East Capitol Street Shooting, One Suspect Remains

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that an additional arrest has been made in connection with the Southeast shooting.

On Friday, November 22, 2024, around 9:42 a.m., First District officers responded to the 1700 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast, for reports of a gunshot. Officers spotted a 15-year-old male with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives established that the incident took place in an alley behind an apartment complex on the 1700 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast. The shooting victim then rushed to Eastern High School for help.

Previously, on Friday, January 17, 2025, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a 17-year-old man in Prince George’s County as a consequence of the detective’s research and in accordance with a D.C. Superior Court Custody Order for Assault With A Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

On Friday, March 7, 2025, a 15-year-old juvenile man was detained in Prince George’s County on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. On March 12, 2025, he was extradited to Washington, D.C., and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

The remaining suspect was captured by surveillance cameras and is depicted in the photo.
