In 2023, four sober drivers in Tennessee were arrested and charged with driving under the influence by a police officer. This unjust action resulted in one of the drivers losing both her job and her home.
Officer Noah Werner apprehended three individuals, one of whom was a teacher en route to school, and accused them of driving under the influence. Nevertheless, subsequent blood tests conducted by WSMV4 disclosed the absence of alcohol in the systems of all three men.
After tests were conducted, it was determined that Pence had only taken prescribed medication. However, the consequences were severe. Pence’s mugshot was posted on social media, resulting in her termination from her new job and subsequent eviction from her home.
According to Pence, she did not receive an apology or any compensation from Werner to address the financial and emotional distress she experienced.
An investigation into Officer Werner’s unlawful arrests has resulted in the recommendation that he receive remedial DUI training. As a result, Officer Werner has chosen to resign from the Goodlettsville Police Department and has joined the police force in the neighboring town of Portland.
WSMV4 reached out to Werner’s new department inquiring about their knowledge of his previous violations, but unfortunately, no response was received.
