Employees at Hannaford contacted the Brunswick Police after witnessing the trio stealing a significant quantity of over-the-counter medications and beauty products. The authorities promptly located all three suspects in a nearby vehicle, where they discovered approximately $32,000 worth of over-the-counter medications and merchandise.
Police investigators have identified the three individuals as potential members of an organized retail theft ring, following an in-depth inquiry into the incident. It is believed that these suspects may have targeted multiple stores in Maine as part of their criminal activities.
Two New York Suspects Arrested in Maine are Fugitives From Justice
The police apprehended the suspects for theft and, upon discovering that Rodriguez and Cubillos were wanted for similar crimes in California and New Jersey, they additionally faced charges as fugitives from justice.
Rodriguez and Cubillos are currently being held without bail at the Cumberland County Jail. As for Santaella, his bail has been set at $1,500 cash.
