ICE raid at North Bergen warehouse results in multiple detentions

According to sources, federal immigration agents stormed STG Logistics’ facility in North Bergen, detaining all employees inside. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reportedly fingerprinted and questioned every worker there. Several people were taken into custody; however, the exact number is unknown.

STG Logistics is a Container Freight Station (CFS), which is a federally controlled facility overseen by US Customs and Border Protection. These warehouses play critical roles in the supply chain, handling imported commodities before they are released for domestic distribution. Because CFS facilities are subject to federal customs jurisdiction, enforcement activities, including ICE operations, can take place on their grounds as part of larger immigration and border security measures.

According to sources at the site, ICE officials arrived with search dogs and conducted a thorough check of the facility during the operation.

ICE authorities denied commenting on the raid’s specifics, saying, “Per ICE policy, we cannot talk about ongoing law enforcement actions.”

This raid fits a trend of recent ICE activities in Hudson County. Just last month, ICE officials were seen conducting enforcement operations in West New York, where they allegedly seized a Hispanic guy without questioning him, according to HudPost. That operation took place two days after President Donald Trump signed the “Protecting the American People Against Invasion” executive order, which increased ICE’s enforcement authority and accelerated deportations.

The presence of federal immigration agents in North Bergen is sure to cause worry in the area, which has a sizable immigrant community.
