Alabama Man Charged With Murder Following Authorities Found Wife’s Body Under Bridge

On Monday night, February 24, 2025, Stephen Miller Sr., an Alabama man, contacted authorities to report that his wife, Gloria Miller, had mysteriously vanished from their residence on Halls Mill Road. The incident occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2025, during the afternoon hours. Following the report, law enforcement promptly initiated an investigation into Gloria’s disappearance, treating it as a missing persons case.

Early in the investigation, we identified several signs of wrongdoing. A nearby shopping mall’s parking lot revealed some of Gloria’s personal belongings before Stephen’s report. Authorities then found that Stephen had left the things at the spot only hours before they were discovered and turned in by a local company.

As authorities sought to piece together the facts surrounding Gloria’s disappearance, Stephen eventually admitted to having a violent argument with his wife on Saturday. He confesses to manually strangling her until she died.

Gloria’s body was discovered about a mile inside Geneva County on Geneva County Road 68, in a dry stream bed beneath a bridge. The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery has received her remains for autopsy.

Stephen Craig Miller Sr., 64, is facing a single charge of murder. A bond of $1.5 million has been set for him.
