A 71-year-old man, who confronted a man stealing from his car, was shot dead outside a bingo hall. Thankfully, the police have made an arrest in connection with his suspected killer.
According to Fox 4, Kenyan Buchanan has been charged with capital murder in connection to the case.
Roger Smith encountered Buchanan as he was leaving a bingo hall in Fort Worth, Texas, in the early hours of New Year’s Day. The report states that Buchanan was caught in the act of stealing from Smith’s truck.
During the confrontation, Buchanan shot Smith and took his wallet and phone.
According to the report, a witness observed Smith falling to the ground, while the suspect quickly fled the area in a white SUV. Subsequently, the police initiated a search for the said vehicle.
On Friday, the Fort Worth police pulled over a white Mazda that appeared to be the suspected vehicle. According to the report, Buchanan was discovered inside the vehicle along with a passenger.
According to Fox 4, Buchanan learned about Smith’s death from news reports and decided to cut his hair after the shooting.
After apprehending the suspect, law enforcement officers proceeded to take him into custody and complete the necessary paperwork before placing him in Tarrant County Jail.
