In 2024, not only Efren but also his mother, uncle, grandfather, and grandmother were sentenced. Additionally, his sister was indicted in early December and her trial is set for February 10, 2025.
Efren, a 29-year-old residing in the United States without legal documentation, found himself facing a 15-year sentence in federal prison for the crime of ‘possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine’. The judge made it abundantly clear that once he completed his sentence, Efren would undoubtedly be deported to Mexico. Additionally, he would be subjected to 10 years of supervised release.
According to court records on the DOJ website, Efren was apprehended in 2022 at a hotel in Nampa. He was found in possession of meth, fentanyl, cocaine, over $3 thousand in cash, and a handgun.

Efren has already been deported once after serving a prison sentence for similar crimes. However, he managed to reenter the United States and continued his illicit drug trafficking activities.
According to the DOJ report, it is highly likely that Efren is responsible for the deaths of two individuals who suffered from drug overdoses as a result of consuming drugs supplied by him.
