Efren Alexander Aviles-Pacheco comes from a family with a history of drug-related crimes. The lineage of convictions dates back to 2015 when his father was sentenced to 20 years in Idaho for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

In 2024, not only Efren but also his mother, uncle, grandfather, and grandmother were all sentenced. Additionally, his sister was indicted in early December and her trial is set for February 10, 2025.
Efren, a 29-year-old residing in the United States without proper documentation, found himself facing significant legal consequences. He received a 15-year prison sentence for the charge of ‘possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine,’ and an additional 10 years of supervised release. It was made clear by the judge that once Efren completed his sentence, he would undoubtedly be deported to Mexico.
Efren was apprehended in 2022 at a Nampa hotel, as per court records cited on the DOJ website. During the arrest, authorities discovered meth, fentanyl, cocaine, over $3 thousand in cash, and a handgun in his possession.

After serving a jail sentence for similar crimes, Efren was deported once. However, he managed to re-enter the US and continued his illegal activities of drug trafficking.
According to the DOJ report, it is highly probable that Efren is accountable for the fatalities of two individuals who suffered fatal drug overdoses as a result of the drugs he furnished.
