Darius Young, 33, was killed in a gunshot on Thursday in Southeast D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
This is D.C.’s first homicide since February 24.
Officers responded to a gunshot at a business on the 5000 block of Benning Road in Southeast D.C. on Thursday at 9:26 a.m.
Young was located inside, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Officers eventually established that the incident occurred outside on the 5000 block of H Street SE.
