3 Women Face Charges In Multi-State Ulta Thefts Totaling Over $250,000

Three women are currently in custody at the Macomb County Jail after being accused by Shelby Township police of stealing $250,000 worth of merchandise from Ulta stores in multiple states.

On January 10th, the authorities were initially informed of a retail fraud amounting to $6,000 at the Ulta store located on 26 Mile Road. Thanks to the assistance of FLOCK cameras, which have the ability to read license plates, the officers were able to pinpoint a suspect vehicle. Subsequently, they successfully traced the vehicle to various Ulta Beauty stores in different jurisdictions, including Toledo, Ohio. It was in Toledo where the officers managed to locate and apprehend the three suspects involved in the case.

The suspects’ vehicle contained stolen merchandise, according to the police.

The police have identified three suspects in the recent thefts. They are Nayely De Los Santos-Arana from New Jersey, Brenda Ampudia-Tocto from New York, and Evelyn Romero-Berrospi, also from New Jersey. These individuals are believed to be involved in thefts from various Ulta stores, including the ones located on Hall Road in Shelby Township, Troy, Lapeer, and even in Toledo, Ohio.

Detectives are currently investigating whether the women are accountable for thefts at other Ulta stores. According to Ulta, the stolen merchandise attributed to these women amounts to over $250,000.

All the women have been brought back to Michigan and are facing charges of retail fraud. They have been given a cash/surety bond of $25,000, but they are currently being held under an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement detainer.
