A tragic incident occurred in Midwest City, Oklahoma, where 19-year-old Promise Cooper lost her life in a shooting while she was riding in a car with her boyfriend. The devastating incident has left the community in shock and mourning.

Cooper made a distress call to 911 just 44 minutes before he was pronounced dead at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Midwest City.

During the call, she informed the dispatcher that the individual in question had threatened to harm her and her family. She further noted that he was driving around while wearing a ski mask.

After giving the call, Cooper hopped into the car alongside her boyfriend, 22-year-old Tristan Stoner.

They went to a dispensary and then left. After that, they approached the intersection of Reno and Sooner, as mentioned in the affidavit.

Cooper felt the heat and decided to lower the passenger side window, as mentioned in the document.

Stoner informed the police that they noticed a Dodge Charger beside them, which proceeded to roll down their window, appearing suspicious.

He noticed her injuries and promptly rushed her to the hospital, tragically, she passed away later on.

In a recent interview with News 4, Angela Beatty, the Vice President of Programs and Engagement at Young Women’s Christian Association, shared her insights.

According to Beatty, domestic violence is a major cause of injury among pregnant women. Disturbingly, abuse often begins only after a certain level of commitment has been established in the relationship.

According to the Midwest City Police, Stoner provided inconsistent statements when questioned, but upon examining his phone, they discovered messages he had sent to Cooper expressing his distress over the pregnancy and his desire for her to undergo an abortion.

Furthermore, he sent threatening text messages to Cooper.

Stoner has been charged with Second Degree Murder.
