Two individuals from Washington, D.C., Angel Enrique Suncar, 31, and Tristan Miles Ware, 25, who are part of the Kennedy Street Crew (KDY), have been sentenced for their involvement in a drug trafficking organization, as stated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Columbia.
A man named Suncar, who has been convicted of selling marijuana and crack cocaine and possessing firearms to aid in drug trafficking, has been given a five-year prison sentence by federal authorities.
The department clarified that Suncar, also recognized as “Coqui,” admitted to guilt on June 12, 2024, for possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking offense.
The department has confirmed that U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell has also ordered him to serve five years of supervised release.
The department announced that “Greedy” Ware, whose real name is unknown, pleaded guilty on July 11, 2024. He was charged with conspiracy to distribute a significant amount of marijuana, weighing at least 100 kilograms. In addition, he was also found guilty of possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking offense.
The attorney’s office reported that Ware was sentenced by Howell to 10 years in prison, with an additional five years of supervised release.
According to court documents, it was revealed that members of KDY were involved in the operation of open-air drug markets in Washington, D.C. The drug markets were located along an 11-block stretch of Kennedy Street NW and the surrounding streets. This information was reported by the department.
The office confirmed that Suncar was often seen in the KDY-controlled drug market, where law enforcement collected evidence of his activities at or near his residence.
On June 27, 2023, law enforcement carried out a synchronized arrest operation in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, as reported by the department.
During the search of Suncar’s residence, law enforcement officials discovered several items that strongly indicated involvement in drug trafficking. These included baggies of crack cocaine, Pyrex dishes with powder residue, digital scales, two firearms with ammunition, and $1,410 in cash. The U.S. attorney’s office confirmed that these findings provided compelling evidence of Suncar’s alleged illicit activities.
